Show offers Route 66 depictions
EDMOND — Opening Thursday at Shadid Fine Art, 19 N Broadway, is a show by New Mexico artist Bruce Cody. Among the paintings are Oklahoma landmarks found along U.S. Route 66. An opening reception is planned from 5 to 7 p.m. The show will remain on view through March 1.

Mixed-media show has mature theme
NORMAN — On view through March 15 at the Dreamer Concepts Studio & Foundation, 324 E Main, is "Heartburn,” a mature-themed show featuring paintings, jewelry, prints, video and handcrafted Valentine cards by eight artists.

Purim youth mask competition set
TULSA — The Sherwin Museum of Jewish Art, 2021 E 71, will have its second annual Purim Mask Invitational for Tulsa-area students in grades K-12.

The Festival of Purim commemorates the Jewish victory over oppression as recounted in the Book of Esther.

Prizes will be awarded for first-place masks in six age categories. All masks must be wearable. Deadline for submission is Feb. 22. Winning masks will be exhibited at the museum during March and April.
