Stern: Sonics' departure is an 'inevitability'
NBA commissioner says Seattle recently turned down a $30 million lease buyout

NEW ORLEANS — Seattle turned down a $30 million lease buyout offer from the Sonics' Oklahoma City -based ownership group two days ago, but that won't stop the team from leaving, NBA commissioner David Stern said Saturday.

"It's apparent to all who are watching that the Sonics are heading out of Seattle,” Stern said during his annual All-Star weekend press conference.
