Catchings wins Iba Citizen Athlete Award
Tamika Catchings, a former Tennessee basketball star who now plays with the WNBA's Indiana Fever, is the winner of the Henry P. Iba Citizen Athlete Award.

The award is given to a male and female athlete who has excelled in their sport and who exemplifies a high degree of citizenship in the image of the former Oklahoma State basketball coach. The award is presented by the Rotary Club of Tulsa.

The male winner has not been announced.

Catchings is a member of the WNBA's All-Decade team, and she is active in the community. She spends the offseason conducting basketball camps and working with her "Catch the Stars Foundation.” The foundation provides for academic and sports-related progams for at-risk youth.

She will be presented the Iba award on June 23 at the Renaissance Hotel and Convention Center in Tulsa. The keynote speaker will be Kansas coach Bill Self. For ticket and sponsorship information, call the Rotary Club of Tulsa at (918) 584-7642.

Boutte is No. 1: Oklahoma's Shardae Boutte is the top triple-jumper in the nation, according to the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Saturday, Boutte established the nation's longest triple jump of the indoor season. He jumped 54-feet, 1-inch during the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark. The jump shattered the school record (53-1.50), set in 1997 by Jerome Douglas.

•Daytona tops TV ratings: Fox's coverage of the Daytona 500 on Sunday afternoon topped the week with a 10.7 on KOKH-25, up 56 percent over last year's telecast. TNT's coverage of the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday night managed only a 2.6, down 30 percent from last year.
