Eaton said his recent performance is a result of his maturation.
"Just sitting back and observing life,” Eaton said when asked what spurred his recent success. "I'm a junior already. I got one more year, and if I want to get to the NBA like I want to there are some things I needed to do. I had to start playing a lot harder and a lot better. Overall I think I'm doing a better job.”
•Big day for Dove: Senior Marcus Dove's emotional on-court celebration after Saturday's win over Kansas was widely viewed as the CBS cameras focused in on Dove pounding his chest and appearing near tears as students swarmed the court.
It was the first time since last year's triple-overtime Texas game that fans swarmed Eddie Sutton court.
It was the first time in Dove's playing career that he beat Kansas. OSU beat Kansas in the 2005 Big 12 Tournament but Dove was injured and didn't play. On Saturday he hit a crucial 3-pointer with one minute left that gave OSU a 60-58 lead.
The game had special meaning for Dove because out of high school he wanted to attend Kansas. The Jayhawks recruited him, but in the end didn't have room for him.
•Bench production: In Missouri's most recent game, a win over Colorado, the Tigers got 32 points from players off the bench while the starters combined for 28 points.
Against Kansas, OSU got nine bench points: four from Terrel Harris and five from Martavius Adams.
•Etc.: In the last six years, OSU is 6-4 in the game after a win over a top-10 opponent. ... Eaton and Harris are the only Oklahoma State players who have played in Mizzou Arena. ... OSU is third in the Big 12 in scoring defense, giving up 66.8 points. Only Kansas and Texas give up fewer points per game.
