Walker, Wolfe run at combine, but Smith doesn't
OU cornerback Reggie Smith didn't run at the NFL Scouting Combine on Tuesday, likely due to the broken big toe that kept him out of the Fiesta Bowl.

Smith will have a chance to show his speed in front of scouts during OU's pro day on March 11.

Cornerback Marcus Walker and safety D.J. Wolfe, meanwhile, did run the 40-yard dash at the combine.

Walker posted a 40-time of 4.59; Wolfe ran a 4.65. Neither time ranked in the top 10 for defensive backs.

The fastest time by a DB came from Connecticut's Tyvon Branch, who ran a 4.31.

OU-Boise State keeps rolling in ESPN's Greatest Highlights: Boise State's remarkable 43-42 victory over OU in the 2006 season Fiesta Bowl is now in the finals of ESPN's Greatest Highlights mock tournament.

The Fiesta Bowl got 56 percent of fan votes to defeat Doug Flutie's Hail Mary and reach the finals, where it now faces the 1980 Miracle on Ice for the title.

OU should hire Raymond and the guy that dominated Wolfe in high school. (if he can quit talking about high school). But this Raymond, he sounds like a defensive wizard, and NOBODY beats the wiz!

Shepard, why does that seem rare? Everyone lifts weights, they all have good training programs. Im not questioning Schmidt at all, but I question all the people who assume that he is the best there is. They base that only on what potential employers thought of him and what the players say, but none of that means he is any better or worse than any other strength coach in the country. Also, remember that Joe Jon was a high school QB and came in undersized. He put on some weight at OU, but has never been a huge guy.

One other thing. Don't forget the whopping 12 reps that 255 pound TE Joe John Finley did on the bench. With a coach like coach Schmidt, I can't believe that. That's a little over half of the average top 10 TEs reps. What gives? He is great player but it seems rare for an OU starter to be weak among his NCAA peers.

I wish them well in the draft, but those combine numbers are important. D.J. Wolfe was a team player and was a solid db, but I expected Lofton to tear it up. I wish Malcom and Reggie the best at pro-day. Kelly is one of the lucky ones who is going to go early no matter what. As for the greatest highlights thing. I'd hate to have to look at that the rest of my life. It made me wanna puke when I saw it the first time. It reminded me of the play Eric Crouch did on us when we went to Lincoln a few seasons ago where they beat us. It looked like the same play, and I almost could feel it coming. AAaargh!

Not suprised at the slow times since this group got burned so often on the deep passes.
