Teacher merit pay bill passes committee
A House committee approved a bill today that would establish a merit pay pilot program for up to 25 schools.
House Bill 3390 won approval from the House Education Committee. It now goes to the full House.
The measure would reward teachers for how well they do their jobs instead of paying them solely on their years of service, said the bill’s author, Rep. Lance Cargill , R-Harrah.
