Animal research bill won't move ahead

A measure that would have allowed animal shelters to make dead animals available to dealers who in turn sell them for use in research failed Wednesday to pass out of a House committee.

The House Public Health Committee voted down the bill after hearing concerns from a representative of the Humane Society of the United States and a researcher.
