Defensive end Richetti Jones, one of the highest ranked recruits from the 2007 class, redshirted last season. Jones suffered a cracked hip 16 months ago during his final season in high school.
"I still don't think he's 100 percent,” said coach Mike Gundy. "I don't think he'll ever be 100 percent with the injury he had. But I think he'll show up (and make plays) this spring.
"His mental make-up and mental discipline will determine whether he can maintain through practices six, seven and eight and go all the way through practice 15. Is he tough enough to do that at this level?”
•Sexton moves: Junior Andre Sexton was a two-year starter at safety. This spring he is being moved to the linebacker position that Donovan Woods played last season.
"We're not in a situation where we have enough depth at that position, so we had to move a guy down again,” Gundy said. "He has to move down.”
•Anderson starting?OSU coaches released their pre-spring depth chart on Thursday.
One position that stood out is cornerback: Terrance Anderson is listed as the starter and Perrish Cox is listed as the backup.
"(Defensive coaches) felt he played well enough late last year to be in that position,” Gundy said.
Junior college players are not listed, each having to earn a spot on the two-deep.
•Injury update: Tailback Keith Toston (major knee surgery) will not participate in spring practice. Wide receiver Artie Woods (back surgery) will not be involved in contact drills. Center David Washington (broken leg) will be held out of contact drills until after spring break in mid-March.
