Q: How does Bob overcome the BCS bowl woes to keep putting together great recruiting classes? — Frank, Pearland, Texas

A: When asking recruits about what they see in a program, bowl wins (or bowl losses for that matter) don't rank high on the list. Recruits seem to care far more about the coaches or the town or the other players of the school. The Sooner coaches are such good recruiters and know how to build relationships with high school kids, and that far outweighs OU's recent struggles in bowl games in the minds of those players.

Q: What about Jermaine Gresham? It doesn't seem like people are talking about him all that much. What kind of season can he have in ‘08? — Jeff, Norman

A: Gresham has the talent and plays in a scheme that could lead him to having an All-American caliber '08. Gresham could stand to improve on his blocking and he has a tendency to disappear at times. But the Texas A&M game (four TD catches) showed what he's capable of doing when the ball is thrown his way.

Q: Who will be Sam Bradford's backup in case he gets hurt again? — Chad, Shawnee

A: Well, if last season was any indication, the answer is Joey Halzle. The rising senior replaced Bradford (concussion) during the Texas Tech game, and even though he struggled early, Halzle played relatively well in the second half. Rising sophomore Keith Nichol could also get a look, but the Sooner offensive coaches seem to feel more comfortable with Halzle behind center right now.
