Health measure just fails Senate
State senators rejected a measure Thursday to require health insurance coverage for autism and require insurers to pay for medical services deemed necessary by health care professionals.
The vote on the bill was 24-19, with 25 votes needed to pass.
Senate Bill 2114 was amended on the senate floor by Sen. Jay Paul Gumm, D-Durant , to include the autism provision, also called "Nick's Law.”
