Marcus Dove's defensive prowess wasn't a big secret among Big 12 coaches.

But seeing the Oklahoma State senior live for the first time, Texas A&M coach Mark Turgeon was still surprised.
"That Dove kid, this is the first time I've seen him in person,” Turgeon said earlier this season. "He is something else defensively. He can cover so much space and guard so many people. He's pretty special.”
The rest of the conference coaches agreed as the 6-foot-9 forward was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year on Monday. He was also the only unanimous selection to the Big 12 All Defensive team.
Last year, Dove was named the co-Defensive Player of the Year along with Kansas' Mario Chalmers.
OSU coach Sean Sutton said last week that Dove's defensive versatility is what makes him so valuable.
"He can guard all five positions in the college game, which is very special,” Sutton said.
Sutton said he thinks Dove will be able to guard three positions in the NBA, which gives him a good shot at making an NBA roster as a defensive specialist.

I think that it is wonderful, the fact that Dove will make it to the NBA soley because of defense. I wish others would follow his example. The last true Eddie Sutton pupil.
