Long wait
Oklahoma State got to Kansas City, Mo., early Monday evening and shot around. With only a light practice to break up Tuesday, the Cowgirls had a long, brutal wait before taking the court Wednesday at 8:30 p.m.

"It's an anxious feeling you have,” point guard Andrea Riley said. "You're like, ‘Man, two more days, three more hours.' And when you think about the excitement that everybody is playing with, you want to be part of that. It made us want to get on the floor.”

Coach Kurt Budke added that it's painful to watch other teams play twice before you've even stepped on the floor.

•Okie watch: Mustang High School graduate Danielle Zanotti scored 12 points for Kansas State in its 66-65 overtime loss to Iowa State on Wednesday. Zanotti figures to move into KSU's starting lineup in the NCAA Tournament after a knee injury suffered by K-State star Kimberly Dietz against the Cyclones.

Also Wednesday, Putnam City West grad Danielle Gant had nine points and six rebounds for Texas A&M in the Aggies' 65-39 rout of Missouri.

Against OSU, Kansas' Sade Morris, a Norman High grad and former teammate of OSU's Taylor Hardeman, had four points, four assists and five turnovers. Nicollete Smith, a 6-foot-2 freshman from Tulsa Bishop Kelley, played eight minutes.

Texas' Rachel Rentschler, who attended eighth grade at Edmond Sequoyah Middle School before moving to Texas before high school, had five rebounds in the Longhorns' 76-61 upset of Baylor on Wednesday. Also for the Longhorns, Sapulpa native Earnesia Williams scored eight points, had five assists and grabbed 13 rebounds.
