LUBBOCK, TexasTexas Tech and Oklahoma State are finalizing plans to move their annual Big 12 game to Dallas, according to reports out of Texas.

However, Oklahoma State athletic director Mike Holder said there was "no news to report.”

The first game played in Dallas wouldn't likely be until 2009, but the site remains undetermined. The schools are looking at the Cotton Bowl or the Dallas Cowboys' new stadium in Arlington.

The Cowboys' new stadium is scheduled to open in 2009, but Tech athletic director Gerald Myers said no commitment had been made either to Cowboys owner Jerry Jones or to the Cotton Bowl Athletic Association.

"We've got to decide which one we can sell the most tickets to,” Myers said. "That's a big part of it.”

The 2008 game between the Red Raiders and the Cowboys will be played in Lubbock.

Took you 3 days to come up with anything. Maybe you are an aggie through and through.

Yes Steve you do have to "steal" fans when your program is a subordinate. Danny and I enjoy watching our team play. If they enjoyed their team there would be no need for stealing.
Arron, Holdenville - Mar 25, 2008 at 11:47 am
I'm willing to bet a LOT of money neither Danny nor Aaron have attended either school. If this game is a "Sam's Club Special" it should allow us to steal alot of the Walmart crowd from the gooners.....

danny is a wonderful person, full of wisdom and wit. We OSU fans, who are terrible people, should bow down to his all-knowing self.

Danny, have a wonderful day thinking you are the smartest guy of all time. Must suck when someone bursts your little bubble. Have a blessed day.

ok osu fans, R from Richardson trumped me with numbers that made me think. I hope each and everyone of the osu bashers on here read and understand what numbers mean, now to me they mean " that they are still not on your side." have a wonderful day

well r from richardson, that was very interesting to say the least, but unless you are a fortune teller, it is just speculation as of right now. Very good though
itmustsucktobeosu, ardmore - Mar 21, 2008 at 9:27 pm
Danny and Arron, do you guys have any kind of life at all other than bashing a school you really know little about and never attended? Why do you constantly sit like vultures on every OSU story ready to pounce? Surely you can find something else better to do. If you don't like the school, that's your right, but give it a rest and quit showing both your ignorance and your okole.

Actually Danny, it isn't outlandish. Note, I wrote "long-term". Plano in 1970 was 17K. 2000 Census: 250K+. And I could go on and on about the population explosion of the cities to the north of Plano. Greater New Dallas is now in Sherman. Sherman gets a commercial airport at abandoned Perrin AFB, the whole Red River region explodes even further with growth. Greater Metropolitan Dallas is less than 25 miles from the Red. Reason even in this depressed real estate market there is land speculation and option buying in Grayson and Cooke counties. Watch how Durant, OK will increase in population in the 2010 Census. Might be hard for you to believe living on Highway 70 in western Carter County, but the growth is coming. First on North Central (Oklahoma 69), 2.) north of Lake Texoma on Hwy. 377 and 3.) on Int. 35. You touched on the reason. (This is a pragmatic observation. No value judgment or political correctness.) In a collision of migrations, one from the south the other from the north, one dominates the other withdraws. The people that relocated to northern Texas from other parts of the country over the last thirty years will withdraw as Texas politically becomes dominated by the other migration group. And that means Oklahoma very soon is going to see major population expansion in its southern counties. Additional schools will be built. People will go to the state universities. And unless OSU takes this opportunity to play a game in Dallas, they will surrender this future population area of Oklahoma to the Sooners. And Joliet Jake, what OSU gains by moving the game to Dallas is money. It is an additional couple million dollars to the OSU athletic coffers.

What would be funny is if they move it to the Cowboy's new home and then Jerry Jones makes them buy season tickets to the Dallas Cowboys in order to get a ticket to the game between OSU and Tech.
Louis, Oklahoma City - Mar 21, 2008 at 3:13 pm
OSU is really trying to be like big brother OU...
OU renovates stadium, new facilities, indoor practice field.
OSU renovates stadium, new facilities, indoor practice field...
All very good things for OSU football/athletics.
But moving their annual game with tech to a neutral site (possibly Dallas)
Why? what do they gain?
Joliet Jake, Chicago - Mar 21, 2008 at 2:40 pm
lets be realistic, pickens stadium does not sell out, Iba only sells out when the team has a good season, there are more people at senior night at the disabled american veteran bingo tourney, with 80's power band Oingo Boingo, than there are people going to osu womens basketball games, and they were pretty darn good this year. My words are not meant to hurt, they are meant to enlighten the fans with orange blinders on. Trust me, stick to a home and home something like a Dallas game could put the final nail in the ole pine box for your school.
itmustsucktobeosu, ardmore - Mar 21, 2008 at 1:09 pm
Imagine, a sea of red Tech fans on both sides extending to the 20 yard line and a sea of orange on both sides extending to the 30 yard line! Y'all are HILARIOUS!

New Dallas, you mean nuevo dallas dont ya, here is another truth, "if the alamo would have had a back door, the red river would be the mexican border. I dont mean to go off on osu or texas fans, but dont bring it upon yourselves by stating outlandish statements,

Eventually Greater New Dallas (in Oklahoma) will have a substantial population base. Greater New Dallas is moving north that fast. Don't worry about the long-term viability of this game.

This is a very good move. Particularly if the game goes to the Cotton Bowl in Fair Park during the Texas State Fair. The projected growth area of Oklahoma is the southern counties. G

It's the smart move for them. Their benefits will be similiar to what OU has seen. I'm a Sooner that doesn't much like danny's (and Arron) stuff, in fact it wouldn't bother or surprise me if they send a posse to see them both, but the traffic cone thing is funny.

here are some things that are orange in the real world and what they stand for 1. the prison system "speaks for itself" 2. Texas,"give me a break" 3.traffic cones"hey osu grads working here" 4.leaves from trees in the fall"dead" 5. sunless tanning lotion"turns you orange". These things are all related, they all suck, go pokes!

I know i'm kind of famous with the osu folks on here, I dont mean to bash any of you honestly, but some of the things that is writen on here, just makes me have to tell the truth, stop being blinded by the slightly different color of orange that texas has, the only way osu should be bragging on any sport is if they are speaking of wrestling or golf, now some of you are saying "hey what about baseball?" yes you did win the CWS 2 times, but was there 18 times, that is a tad bit shameful, but anyway, and as far as basketball, unless it was way back in the fifites then dont brag on it. With that being said, there is not another wonderful thing to talk about as far as sports at osu, RIGHT NOW , your football, wrestling, baseball, basketball, are average at best! That is the truth, the numbers say it all. Just come back down to earth, there is nothing wrong with being osu, just lower the arrogancy a bit!
itmustsucktobeosu, ardmore - Mar 21, 2008 at 11:11 am
I just realized something, this is the Sooner state, i mean i knew there was a corrilation between the university of Oklahoma Sooners, and the state, but until the bright osu fan brought it to my attention that the "s" in osu meant state, it just never clicked, wow the things you learn about a name!
Ok, osu fans that was a lesson in how to be sarcastic...!
osu fans please dont say things like that on here anymore, its hard enough being an osu fan, make it easier on the ones that dont make ignorant remarks.
itmustsucktobeosu, ardmore - Mar 21, 2008 at 11:02 am
So there are signs saying "osu the states university", right? these signs just got put up recently right?, now my question is, does it take signs saying "states university" to make osu fans realize that it is the states university?, I hate osu but the "s" in osu gave it away to me, if i'm not mistaken it was changed to state back in the late fifties, the "s" should have given that away to all of you. But hey, as long as you all finally get it thats what is important here.
