NORMAN — Security has been heightened at Alcott Middle School today after school officials found a message about a possible shooting threat.
Alcott Middle School Principal Dana Morris said school staff found the message written on the wall of one of the school's bathroom stalls before students were dismissed last week for spring break.
The message talked about a shooting and specified sixth period on March 26, she said.
Letters were sent home March 14 to notify parents of the threat, Morris said. "We have quite a few absences today," she said. School officials haven't found the person who wrote the message.
Classes are continuing as scheduled. An extra police officer will be on campus the remainder of the week, Morris said.
