ESPN will present a unique "Sunday Conversation” this week as three coaching icons — and friends — discuss a variety of topics including their friendships, coaching philosophies and how players have changed over the years during segments on the 9:30 a.m. and 10 p.m. Sunday editions of "SportsCenters”
Bill Parcells and
Tony La Russa sat down with
Bob Knight this week in Jupiter, Fla., the spring training home of La Russa's
St. Louis Cardinals.
Knight has been to nearly every spring training run by
La Russa since 1988, and was basketball coach at Army in the late 1960s when
Parcells was linebackers coach there.
Parcells, on playing against
Knight in pick-up basketball games at West Point: "He was an impossible adversary. He was tough to defeat mentally. We fought it out quite a bit, but enjoyed doing it.”

FSN to air Texas spring game: FSN Southwest will air the
University of Texas' spring game at noon Saturday, beginning with a pregame show at 11:30 a.m.

ESPN acquires boxing package: ESPN has reached an agreement to replay select Showtime Championship Boxing telecasts from the 21-year Showtime boxing library. The package of fights, titled "Showtime Championship Boxing on
ESPN,” will air primarily on
ESPN Classic on Thursday nights.
