The scrimmage, which is open to the public, is scheduled to last about 80 plays with a couple of individual position drill periods mixed in.
Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy said he's looking specifically for backup quarterback contenders Brandon Weeden and Alex Cate to show improvement, and for overall improvement from a light scrimmage OSU held a week ago.
"But really we're looking for guys to play hard and give great effort and have good body language and to do those types of things that are all important,” Gundy said.
Many of the highlights from the Cowboys' first scrimmage were on defense, an interesting twist for a team that was potent offensively last season but struggled on defense.
In that March 13 scrimmage, the offense failed to score, but the defense put points on the scoreboard. A number of newcomers made big plays in that scrimmage, including interceptions by incoming freshman Markelle Martin and junior college transfer Lucien Antoine.
"We're looking for the offense to be more productive and the defense to be better than it was,” Gundy said.
Center David Washington might participate in today's scrimmage.
The senior-to-be suffered a broken leg in last year's game at Troy.
He participated in a light contact practice for the first time on Wednesday.
Today marks the second of OSU's four scheduled spring scrimmages.
Fans who will attend should enter through Gate 6, which is on the south side of the stadium next to the ticket office.
No other gates will be open.
The third scrimmage is scheduled for April 4, and spring practices culminate with the Orange-White spring game on April 12.
The spring game will start at 4 p.m.
A free concert by country singer (and OSU alumnus) Keith Anderson will follow at 6 p.m. Gallagher-Iba Arena.

Does anyone know why the scrimmage is at 3:30? Is it so that most people cannot attend? Might get more fan support if the scrimmages were more fan friendly! I know I would!
Just ignore him. There's no point in getting into an argument with someone like that. It's like arguing with a sack of bricks. All your doing is wasting your time and getting yourself worked up for nothing.
I think people need to ignore Roy, personally it is not worth my time to comment on his rubbish.
I could go around and post on the Sooner article comments "Coach Stoops said he likes the effort on the offensive line, and he thinks it is good enough to get blown out of another bowl game by an inferior team."
Any word on when OU fans will start to become more original in their childish postings? We've already seen the 5-7 "quote" Roy. Is that one comment the extent to which your remedial intelligence can reach? It seems as if the hampster that produces the brain activity in the vast emptiness we call your head has fallen off the wheel and died of exhaustion.
"We're looking for the offense to be more productive, and for Roy to obtain his GED. We are also looking forward to him getting his mullet trimmed before OU kicks off their season next fall." Gundy said.
"We're really looking for the offense to be more productive, the defense to be better than it was, and for Roy to continue cleaning our restrooms and picking up trash around the stadium like a typical OU fan" Gundy said. He continued: "Roy is the kind of janitor that makes me proud to be a Cowboy. The pride he takes in cleaning jocks is truly special. Noone cleans a jock like Roy." Gundy said.
"But really we're looking for guys to play hard and give great effort and have good body language and to do those types of things that are all important when you go 5-7,” Gundy said.
