•Dean Randall Godfrey, 37, Ponca City
Godfrey died at the scene of a two-vehicle accident Thursday night in Kay County, troopers said.
About 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Godfrey was driving a pickup south on U.S. 77, about 1½ miles north of Newkirk, troopers reported. His vehicle crossed the median and collided head-on with a tractor-trailer driven by Joseph Ralph Moews, 65, of Adair.
Godfrey was not wearing a seat belt. Troopers said he was driving under the influence.
Moews was taken with internal injuries to a Wichita hospital. Troopers don't know whether he was wearing a seat belt.
•Marie McDonald, 34, Vinton, La.
McDonald was pronounced dead Friday morning at the scene of a two-vehicle accident east of Claremore, in Rogers County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. McDonald was a passenger in a car driven by Wilfred Dixon, 43, of Eunice, La.
Investigators said Dixon was driving west on State Highway 20 when a tractor-trailer rig in front of him slowed to make a right turn. Dixon, who was sick, apparently did not notice the rig turning soon enough and struck the truck's horse trailer from behind.
McDonald was pinned in her vehicle for about 20 minutes before crews freed her body. Dixon was taken with minor injuries to a Claremore hospital, where she was treated and later released.
The tractor-trailer's driver and passengers were not hurt.
•Betty Day Ashley, 61, Chouteau•Joana K. Hanna, 54, Chouteau
Ashley and Hanna died Friday when a driver ran a stop sign and slammed into the car in which they were riding, the patrol said.
Both died at the scene. The wreck happened about 3:25 p.m., on a Washington County road two miles southwest of Bartlesville.
Troopers said 18-year-old Bartlesville resident James Dawson Eckhart was southbound on a county road. Eckhart crashed into a westbound car driven by James W. Ashley, 64, of Chouteau.
Eckhart was treated and released at a Bartlesville hospital, the patrol said. James Ashley was taken to the same hospital in fair condition with head and trunk injuries.
Eckhart was not wearing a seat belt, troopers said, but Hanna and the Ashleys were.
