Pattillo's coach, Barrett Peery, said his leading scorer is no longer focusing on OSU in the recruiting process, instead keeping his attention on South Florida and Oklahoma.
"Oklahoma State is out of the picture, but he's not really leaning one way or another,” Peery said. "He might take a closer look at Kentucky and Ole Miss, but it's mainly Oklahoma and South Florida.”
Pattillo, rated by JucoJunction.com as the No. 10 overall junior-college player in the 2008 class, will visit South Florida this weekend and will be in Norman April 18-20.
Pattillo was the leading scorer on a fast-paced CSI squad that averaged 110.4 points per game. He averaged 17.4 points, 6.7 rebounds and a team-high 22.1 minutes per game. He was 21-of-53 (39.6 percent) from 3-point range and hit 70.8 percent of his free throws.
Peery said he would not define Pattillo as a pure scorer.
"He's not a tremendous offensive player,” Peery said. "He's ultra-athletic and most of his points come from his activity. He can shoot it well from the perimeter, but he's not known as a scorer. He goes to the glass hard and uses his athleticism to produce points.”
Pattillo does not have a natural position, Peery says, but can play on the perimeter or inside. Beyond his athletic ability, Pattillo's defense could be his most valuable asset.
"He has a good ability to guard a lot of different positions,” Peery said. "He's a big, long athlete who can guard a lot of people.”
The spring signing period opens April 16. Oklahoma currently has one scholarship available, and should freshman phenom Blake Griffin declare himself eligible for the NBA Draft, it would have two.
The return of sophomore forward Keith Clark, currently enrolled at Rose State College, remains a possibility as well.

Practice Player???? Are you insane? The No. 10 juco player in the nation. OSU was soooo good this year that im sure that talented players like this kid, should just find another place to play because the talent is just too good for the cowboys... Give me a break
Based on his recruiting ratings I don't see Patillo as being anything but an practice player unless the teams numbers are so low that he gets to play due to lack of depth. A new coach coming in will have a big recruiting opportunity and may be glad Patillo quit so that a slot is open for a better player.
What each of you fail to realize is the connection the Sutton's had with the College of Southern Idaho. Eddie started the program back in the 60's and routinely recruited from there throughout his D-1 career. Even Sean recruited there heavily. Brad Garrett last year stands as an example. It would not surprise me that Sean's leaving did not have something to do with this.
The only reason OSU was the leader was because it was the only school he visited at that point, plus... he knows someone on the team. But apparently that doesn't matter. :) It'd be great to have him.
Are you saying he was going to OSU because he wanted to be close to the icon that is Sean Sutton? I doubt it was his ability to motivate his players and make deep March Madness runs.
Exactly when did you talk to him Jacob...otherwise, how did you know he was going to osu because of Sean...who by accounts RESIGNED! Someone like Self might change his mind and if so, Keith Clark knows the system and should be coming back to OU...just my opinion...
