Brisk northwesterly winds will continue today in Oklahoma, but wind speeds shouldn't be high as yesterday.
Cool and dry conditions are expected through the weekend, possibly leading to frost and freeze conditions Saturday, Sunday and Monday mornings in some areas, according to the National Weather Service.
Warmer weather is expected early next week, with increasing southerly winds.
Cloud cover is expected to increase, mostly across northern Oklahoma, but no precipitation is expected, forecasters said. Lack of rain will decrease the impact of flooding during the next 12 to 24 hours.
Still, some areas are dealing with problems created by Wednesday's storms. At 6:15 a.m. today, 210 Oklahoma Gas & Electric Co. customers in Muldrow reported power outages, according to the company's Web site.
Another strong storm system is predicted to move into Oklahoma late next week.
The wildfire potential today for Oklahoma will be high to very high.
Relative humidity will range from 25 to 50 percent, with winds 15 to 25 mph and gusting to 35 mph.
The temperature in Oklahoma City at 8 a.m. today was 43 degrees. Southwesterly winds were 5 to 10 mph.
In Tulsa, the temperature was 47 degrees. Westerly winds were 15 to 20 mph. Today's high will be near 60. Winds will be 15 to 25 mph, gusting to 35 mph.
Elsewhere:
• Altus in Jackson County: 44 degrees.
• Idabel in McCurtain County: 52 degrees.
• Guymon in Texas County: 35 degrees, 27-degree wind chill factor.
• Miami in Ottawa County: 44 degrees.
Flood warning issued
A flood warning is effective until 5:45 p.m. today for Adair, Cherokee, Choctaw, Craig, Creek, Delaware, Haskell, Latimer, Le Flore, Mayes, McIntosh, Muskogee, Nowata, Okfuskee, Okmulgee, Osage, Ottawa, Pawnee, Pittsburg, Pushmataha, Rogers, Sequoyah, Tulsa, Wagoner and Washington counties.
Most of the counties received 2 to 4 inches of rain Wednesday, according to the weather service. Some sites received as much as 7 inches or rain.
Numerous flood warnings have been issued for rivers and creeks across the state.
A flood warning means flooding is occurring or is imminent. Rivers and creeks are overflowing and heavy runoff or drainage of water into low-lying areas is happening.
