In the Oklahoma City area
•Bluff Creek: The Lake Hefner trail system, also called Bluff Creek Trail, is a little more than 3½ miles of single track. The trail system is a single loop so you can't get lost. There are lots of tight turns around trees and a number of technical sections (drops, jumps, etc).

Lake Stanley Draper Mountain Bike Park or NuDraper: Offers marked trails for beginning and experienced riders. Great spot for families as the parking area has picnic tables and a restroom.

Arcadia Lake Trail. Considered a great trail for beginners, but can be very sandy in spots.

•Clear Bay: In Lake Thunderbird State Park, this 10-mile trail offers something for all types of riders. Expect extended climbs and fast downhills, some twisty stuff and a few big drops and even some rocks.

In the state
•Turkey Mountain in Tulsa: A great trail but if you're new to this trail it's easy to get lost, because there are few signs and the trails seem to go in every direction.

•Roman Nose State Park: One of the most scenic in the state with a desert-like feel. The trails go through canyons, across bluffs and there is a water crossing.

"It's an amazing venue,” said Steve Neuman, an avid mountain biker from Kingfisher. "It's back in those canyons and I've ridden through there and seen deer and quail.”

Lake McMurtry in Stillwater: Has both expert and beginner trails. The trails are fast and rolling with lots of twists and turns on a scenic route.
