Grading the Red-White game

Pass Offense

Grade: C-

Not even Dan Marino would've had a good performance in the 30-mile-per-hour winds that hampered the Sooner passing game.

Still, the quarterbacks, who combined to throw six interceptions, three resulting in touchdowns, could've taken better care of the ball.

The wide receivers didn't have a great showing, either, and running back Mossis Madu (6 catches for 74 yards) was the only player who had more than two receptions.

Rush Offense

Grade: C

Madu (11 carries for 31 yards) and Justin Johnson (20 carries for 44 yards) each made some nice runs, but neither broke the big one.

Both probably tired in the second half from shouldering all of the carries, with Matt Clapp being the only other healthy running back on the roster.

Pass Defense

Grade: A

The two late touchdown receptions by the offense kept this performance from being an A+. All afternoon, the defensive backs made plays on the ball and basically shut down the Sooner passing attack.

Cornerback Dominique Franks led the way with three interceptions, returning one 57 yards for a touchdown.

Rush Defense

Grade: B+

Run-stuffers Gerald McCoy and DeMarcus Granger didn't have a lot of tackles, but their presence was felt.

Safeties Sam Proctor (9 tackles) and Lendy Holmes (10 tackles) were solid all afternoon helping against Madu and Johnson and didn't miss any tackles leading to big gains.

Special Teams

Grade: B

Redshirt freshman kicker Jimmy Stevens had a solid outing, connecting on all three of his field-goal attempts, including a 39-yarder with the wind.

Punter Mike Knall did well enough kicking into wind, averaging 36.9 yards per punt.
