DE Jamie Blatnick
The redshirt freshman is one of several young defensive ends projected to improve OSU's pass rush. Blatnick was the star of the day with three sacks.
WR Bo Bowling
Already penciled in as the No. 1 punt returner, Bowling made a couple of nifty catches despite playing with a sore shoulder. Bowling's move-the-chains, three catches for 27 yards is the type of production needed from a slot receiver.
LB Justin Gent
With starting middle linebacker Orie Lemon unable to play much due to a class schedule, Gent seized the opportunity. Gent, a sophomore, recorded a game-high nine tackles, four more than any other player.
 Offense
The defense obviously had the better spring. The offense was missing a key player, tight end Brandon Pettigrew, who sat out all 15 spring practices. Still, it was unusual to see the defense, not the offense, play consistently better.
