Sooners' final practice on Tuesday
Despite playing the Red-White spring game Saturday, the Sooners are not done with spring drills quite yet.

OU will practice one more time on Tuesday — a makeup practice from two weeks ago.

Coach Bob Stoops postponed two practices that week because of injuries, rescheduling one for last week and one for Tuesday.

That practice will conclude spring drills.

•You scream, we scream: The squad comprised of the first-team offense and second-team defense, which won the Red-White spring game Saturday 69-40, will enjoy bragging rights throughout the summer over the first-team defense and second-team offense.

But that's not all.

Stoops said before the spring game that he planned to award the winning unit with a prize, most likely ice cream, after Tuesday's practice.

"We'll have hopefully some incentive, whether it's ice cream or something for the winner, more than anything for a pride factor,” Stoops said.

But the first-team defense/second-team offense squad can take comfort in the fact there won't be any penalty awaiting them — like extra running — Tuesday for losing.

"They're all playing hard,” Stoops said. "So I don't figure it's fair to punish the losing team.”

•Stoops to kick off blood drive: The OU athletics department and the American Red Cross are partnering for their fourth blood drive. The blood drive is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, with locations at the second floor of the athletics department lobby as well as the Red Cross bus parked north of the OU bookstore. Times will be 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at both locations for both days.

Stoops is scheduled to be the first donor.

All who donate will receive an OU T-shirt, a $5 Louie's coupon and an OU bookstore coupon.

•UC's Byrd to play vs. OU: Cincinnati All-America defensive tackle Terrill Byrd has been suspended for the Bearcats' Aug. 28 season opener against Eastern Kentucky, but is expected to be reinstated for UC's game with OU the following week.

Byrd was cited for smoking marijuana on March 5 at his residence. He paid $155 in fines and court costs.

The Sooners play UC in the second game of the 2008 season on Sept. 6.

That pothead will not help against us. Adarius didn't make any difference, and her gets high too.
