Rice, an Oklahoma City Democrat who began raising money last summer, raised more than $970,000 through March 31, but passed the $1 million mark this month, according to his campaign.

According to a campaign finance report Rice filed this week, he raised $431,000 in the first three months of this year and had nearly $600,000 left in the bank at the end of March.

"It's encouraging to have the support of thousands of people who share my desire for change,” Rice said in a statement. "We're building a strong grassroots campaign that, despite my opponent's monetary advantage, will make us competitive in November.”

Inhofe, R-Tulsa, who has been in the Senate since 1994, raised slightly more than $800,000 in the first three months of the year and had $2.2 million in cash at the end of March.

Inhofe's campaign spokesman declined to comment Tuesday about the fundraising totals.

Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Muskogee, is not up for re-election this year.

Rice is a pro-abortion, pro-gay activist, pro-tax canidate. Inhofe kept the military bases in Oklahoma from closing, which is big bucks for this state.

Amen, Justin. Thank goodness Jim Inhofe is requiring intelligent discussion on "global warming", "greenhouse gases" or whatever they are calling it this week. Otherwise, the environmentalists will do some REAL damage to the planet!

One good thing? How about standing up against the idiots that believe human-caused global warming is the downfall of earth?

Boy. No doubt. Jim Inhofe is truly an embarrassment. Truly. Name one good thing he has done for our state or nation.

Ray, surely you're not going to vote for Inhofe are you? Lynn is right. What an embarrassment. Inhofe needs to follow Bush back to the ranch in 09.

Having Rice as our senator would remove an embarrasment to the state of Oklahoma. We would also no longer have the weakest congressional delegation in the nation as we now have. Rice would be a part of the majority in the Senate.

Keep contributing to Rice. I love to see Democrats waste all thier money. Inhofe will win by a large margin. Mark it down!

Listen Oklahoma ... we've got to defeat this clown Inhofe in November. He's an arrogant jerk and a reasonable, intelligent and thoughtful man like Andrew Rice is just the person to help our state enter the 21st century.

Go Andrew Rice! Oklahoma needs a change in its Senate leadership, and you are just the one to bring it.
