Abortion bill's veto draws ire of backers
Efforts to override the veto of an anti-abortion bill will start soon, its Senate sponsor says.
Gov. Brad Henry on Wednesday night vetoed Senate Bill 1878, which would have required women to get an ultrasound of an unborn child before an abortion. The bill also was intended to protect health care providers' right not to participate in abortions and decisions whether to dispense a pill to end early pregnancies.
