Joseph R. Winters, 69, was westbound in the 800 block of Oklahoma Street just before 10 p.m. when he veered left off the roadway and traveled 140 feet before striking the house, the patrol said.

He was taken to a Stillwater hospital where he was pronounced dead, the patrol said.

Troopers did not say how fast Winters was traveling when he struck the house. He was wearing a seat belt.
