Warm weather expected, with storms to follow

A cold front that moved through the Oklahoma will bring a cooler day today with highs in the 60s and low 70s.

Warmer temperatures return this weekend with highs from the mid-70s to mid-80s, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters said another system may reach the area mid- to late week, bringing a chance of more storms.

Skies today should be mostly sunny in western and central Oklahoma and cloudy in the east, with a continued chance of showers and thunderstorms early in eastern sections.

Highs will range from the mid-50s in the far northwest to 60s and 70s elsewhere. Lows should fall into the 30s and 40s.

Mostly sunny, warmer weather is expected on Saturday, with temperatures peaking in the 70s and 80s.

Partly cloudy conditions are expected Sunday through Tuesday, but a stronger storm system will bring a chance of precipitation. There will be a chance of thunderstorms Monday in eastern Oklahoma and Tuesday for the entire state.

The temperature in Oklahoma City at 10 a.m. today was 52 degrees. Northwesterly winds were 15 to 20 mph.

In Tulsa, the temperature was 49 degrees. Northwesterly winds were 15 to 20 mph. Today's high will be in the mid-60s with northwesterly winds 15 to 20 mph and gusting to 25 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear. Lows in the mid-30s to lower 40s.

Saturday: Mostly sunny. Highs in the upper 70s to mid-80s.

Today: Partly cloudy in the morning before clearing. Highs in the mid-60s. Northwesterly winds 10 to 20 mph.

Tonight: Clear. Lows in the lower 40s. Southerly winds about 10 mph in the evening before changing to light and variable.

Saturday: Sunny. Highs in the lower 80s. Southerly winds 10 to 15 mph.

Saturday night: Partly cloudy. Lows in the upper 50s. Southerly winds 15 to 20 mph.
