MOORE — Authorities say a woman accused of sexually assaulting a deaf 13-year-old boy used text messages and letters to communicate with him.

Valerie Faye Posey, 26, of Moore faces felony charges in Cleveland County District Court of lewd acts with a child and forcible sodomy. Posey was arrested Wednesday and released on $1,000 bail, according to court records.

If convicted, Posey could be sentenced up to 25 years in prison.

Written letters and text messages between Posey and the boy were turned over to police in March by the boy's mother, Moore police Lt. Todd Strickland said. A nude photograph of Posey was on the boy's cell phone, Strickland said.

Cleveland County Assistant District Attorney Richard Sitzman said the 13-year-old boy was a friend of Posey's son. The alleged molestation occurred at a school playground, Sitzman said.

Posey could not be reached for comment.
