Shortly after 8:10 p.m., officers were called to a shooting at North Highland Park, NW 82 and Harvey Place, Knight said. They found Shonda Euniece Hamilton, 18, with a gunshot wound. She was taken to OU Medical Center where she died, Knight said.

Hamilton was with a group of friends at the park when a second group of girls arrived in vehicles. A verbal exchange ensued, followed by the shooting, Knight said.

The shooter fled.
