Side by side on the left side of the Texas A&M infield, Duran at shortstop and Carter at third base, they made the plays and threatened to make the Big 12 stat sheet a two-man show.

The Aggies duo ranked 1-2 in three major categories: average, hits and triples and finished in the top six in runs, total bases and runs batted in.
So how do you separate Carter and Duran?
You don't.
They share The Oklahoman's Player of the Year nod after playing a pivotal role in leading the Aggies to the Big 12 regular-season championship.
Duran, a junior transfer, leads the league with a .397 average and 94 hits.
Carter, a senior who came on after hitting just .203 a year ago, leads the conference with eight triples and also batted .383.
Duran is the brother of former RedHawks and current Texas Rangers infielder German Duran.
