Most such comments blow into the ether never to be seen or heard from again. Here are some worth a little ink, complete with Internet snark, typos and bad punctuation intact. It's a good snapshot of the kinds of conversations that are also going on everywhere.

After a May 13 story headlined "Real estate: Mixed results; Oklahoma's home prices still rising; But number of houses sold dipped 12 percent, report says,” came a whole slew of comments:

• "What a joke! Of course the National Association of Realators is going to tell us the local housing market is great. They only exist to sell as many homes as possible. A decent reporter would have got an unbiased 3rd party source for this story. This is very poor journalism!” from "Ray, Edmond.”

• "Numbers don't lie Ray. Oklahoma City has one of the strong real estate markets in the country right now. The stupid subprime loans were limited here, and there were no speculators in our market like there were in CA, FL, NV et al. Forbes magazine recently named Oklahoma City the ‘most recession proof city.' Before you start talking about poor journalism why don't you look at FACTS,” from "Chris, Oklahoma City.”

• "Chris is right ... the numbers don't lie. We didn't have the massive inflation in the housing market like many other places and now our prices should continue holding steady and slowly increasing. Oklahoma's economy has found a way to remain more stable than in the past which is great. The 80's were a bad deal around here,” from "Downtown, Oklahoma City.
