Ads claim 25,000 jobs are at stake
A Shawnee Tribe official has said its casino would bring 751,000 new visitors to Oklahoma City each year. Remington Park would benefit, not suffer, from the new casino's success, the tribe asserts.
An ad campaign to be launched today disputes that claim. The campaign, called "25,000 Jobs,” will include newspaper and television ads, plus a Web site, www.25000jobs.com, which its backers say represents the number of jobs to be lost if the new casino is built.
Remington Park is the campaign's main financial backer.
