Seminar to discuss red cedars
The registration deadline for the "Eastern Red Cedar: From Peril to Profit” seminar is Friday.

The two-day seminar, sponsored by High

Plains Resource Conservation and Development in Buffalo, will be July

8 and 9 at the Moore-Norman Technology Center, 13301 S Pennsylvania Ave. in Oklahoma City.

The event will highlight studies and technology about the use of eastern red cedar trees.

Registration is $50 for both days and includes three meals.

Guest registration for meals is $35.

LINDSAY
Hunt for ghosts to raise money
INsight Paranormal Investigations and the Lindsay Historical Society will sponsor the "Spirits of the Heartland” fundraiser Saturday.

The event will include lessons in paranormal investigation as well as an actual investigation.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will be used to restore the Pikes Peak school building, which was recently acquired by the historical society.

Admission is $25 per person, and all must register.

There are 40 public spaces available.

The fundraiser will be at the Murray-Lindsay Mansion, two miles south of Lindsay on State

Highway 76 and a half mile west.

OU grad to lead dentist group
A Vinita dentist was recently named as the 102nd president of the Oklahoma Dental Association.

Jandra Mayer-Ward has replaced Krista M. Jones of Edmond.

Mayer-Ward is a 2000 graduate of the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry.

Mayer-Ward has been in practice at Vinita's Mayer-Ward Dental

Care since 2000, and

she is a dental compliance consultant with

the Oklahoma Healthcare Authority.

SPARKS
Motorcycle rally to host live music
The six-day Bike Week Oklahoma will be June 23-29 at the Sparks

America Campground near Sparks.

The motorcycle rally will include nightly live music performances, bike shows, vendors

and games.

There will also be a $20,000 poker run.

The site includes 140 RV sites and offers free tenting with admission.

Attendees must be 21 to enter.
