•Boxing: Heavyweight champ Wladimir Klitschko of the Ukraine makes another mandatory title defense when he faces Washington, D.C., native Tony Thompson at 3:30 p.m. Saturday from Hamburg, Germany, on HBO. Thompson, a southpaw, has won 26 consecutive fights. HBO will replay the bout at 9 p.m. Saturday.
•Arena football: ESPN will air the conference championships Saturday with the Cleveland Gladiators at Philadelphia Soul at noon and the Grand Rapids Rampage at defending ArenaBowl champion San Jose Sabercats at 2:30 p.m.
