Wizard doesn't misplace modifying phrase

When the movie tornado hit Kansas in 1939, it whirled off to the land of Oz, taking Dorothy and Toto aboard. A headline in the Swayback Daily Kick reported that lives were jeopardized at Lake Eufaula "during a storm with seven women aboard.”

When it was over, the women were still at Lake Eufaula, and there was no wizard, no Yellow Brick Road and no Oz. The main things that were out of place were a pontoon boat and a modifying phrase.

Ottis Dimick called Buck's attention to the headline as he checked his oil at Curly's Soonerco. The entire headline read: "Pontoon boat capsizes at Eufaula during storm with 7 women aboard.”

"I know we have some pretty strong storms here in Oklahoma,” Ottis said, "but I never heard of one with seven women aboard.
