NORMAN — Few quarterbacks not named Tim Tebow have been as good as Sam Bradford so early in their college football careers.

After leading the nation in passing efficiency as a freshman, Bradford is vying to do the same as a sophomore.

“As a freshman and sophomore, it's pretty phenomenal,” coach Bob Stoops said. “His poise and just how he executes. Look at those throws, those balls couldn't be much better.”

Lately, the national media have begun to notice just how special a player Bradford is, placing him on the early short list of Heisman Trophy contenders.

But many of those around him knew Bradford would be special long before this season.

I really like my Frogs chances this week.I do not think Oklahoma is all that, they have not played anyone this year and OU always seems to choke when you dont expect.Frogs 27 OU 17 See you in Norman

Roger....if I lived in Keller, I certainly would not disparage Flower Mound. If Flower Mound is a wannabe Southlake or Plano, then Keller is like a North Richland Hills or Haltom City. The sign when you enter Keller would say something like "We live here cuz its cheaper than living in Flower Mound"
Steve, Flower Mound - Sep 25, 2008 at 10:00 am
Give Stevie a break. She lives in a town named "Flower Mound". It's like a Southlake or Plano wannabee town.
The sign as you enter town reads: A Hillbilly Hellhole on the Rise!"

Billy, Texas Jack and Steve, aka Sooner Haters. Thats all good I hate Notre Dame as well. But since you can visit and blog now, be brave and blog something Sunday morning. Cool?

and for the record Texas jack, the mascot of your beloved TCU is the Horned Frogs, not the "Hornfrogs", idiot. And also you said "I hope there will be no excuses when we beat your butts for the 3rd time in a row OU fans"...this too is factually incorrect, as before the 2005 game, the last meeting of the two teams was won by OU, 10-9 at TCU on 09/12/98. Enjoy the beatdown Jack.
Billy, Oklahoma City - Sep 24, 2008 at 11:12 am
Dont you mean "Texas Crack"? Cause thats what this guy has been smoking.

Since my favorite college football team is anyone playing the sooners or Notre Dame....go TCU and Purdue this weekend. Does TCU have any chance to win this game? The only weakness I have seen from the sooners so far may be in kick/punt coverage area. Patterson is a good coach and will have a good game plan. But it will take some big breaks and some sooner blunders for the upset to happen. Here's hoping that it does!! Love it when the sooners lose, the excuses are so fun to read!!!
Steve, Flower Mound - Sep 24, 2008 at 11:04 am
OK He has no idea. Christian. If you're a TCU fan, that sure is an un-Christian way to be talking.

I knew he was special when he just ripped Miami at Owen Field. And the long drive against Texas when the chips were down and it would have been so easy to falter and fold, this young man drove us the length of the field to victory. Sam is a very, very special young QB
Thomas, Kansas City - Sep 24, 2008 at 10:56 am
Oh boy, Texas Jack, keep it coming. See how mad you can make those Sooners! Like they need something else to fire them up this Saturday. Let's look at a 60-12 scoreboard Sunday morning. Poor Horned Frogs. They were sort of on the rise until they met the Sooners.

Texas Jack, it's not 2005 anymore and the Sooners don't have an overrated Texan at QB. To think this team compares to that team in any way is foolish. You also need to re-read any Stoops comments on that game, he's done nothing but admit they got it handed to them in every way.
Jason, Logan County - Sep 24, 2008 at 10:30 am
Leigh Ann, I'll finish your list of the SEC teams Bradford would light up... Miss. State, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Vanderbilt... the remaining would be good games though for sure. Would rather they come to Norman though instead of going out east ;-)
Jason, Logan County - Sep 24, 2008 at 10:27 am
What does the "C" in TCU stand for? Just wondering if Texas Jack knows...
bingo, Jenks - Sep 24, 2008 at 10:18 am
Texas sucks.
Rufus, spencer - Sep 24, 2008 at 8:08 am
His demeanor is the most impressive thing to me. Even when he interviews, he just carries himself as a confident, grounded and balanced individual. He listens to the question, answers it defers credit and never gloats. Plus he has great command of the offense and throws a good pass.
eudell, Virginia Beach - Sep 24, 2008 at 8:08 am
I'm guessing they meant to continue to this story:

texas jack u crack me up lol. now im not dissing on TCU because my friend Waymon James who is the running back of the Sherman Bearcats in Sherman, Texas signed to play for TCU, but their is no way TCU wins. Bradford throws for over 300 yards and 3 touchdowns, murray brown and madu combine for 5 rushing touchdowns. OU wins 56-17
Jacob, Sherman - Sep 24, 2008 at 8:02 am
Not sure if Bradford compares to Tebow. OU needs to come out east and play some tough SEC teams. I'd love to see that! No more running up the score, well, with the exception of Miss State and a couple of others.
Leigh Ann, Brentwood - Sep 24, 2008 at 8:01 am
Let's all try to think of words to replace 'special' to better help the writers at this paper. How about good, great, wonderful, not ordinary, better than Cole, a lot better than Rhetch, good passer, great passer, much better than Vince, makes Wilson look good, makes Dad proud, tall and gifted and finally, not as 'special' as Texas Jack.

Texas Jack, I live in the Dallas area, where can I get some of whatever you've been smoking? By the way the story you commented on was out yesterday. Now the coach at TCU is trying dig it up again hopefully to get his team ready to play OU. Rusty, how can you expect her to reread the story when it's clear from her comments she can't read. I just wondered who wrote the comments for her?

It's not going to be a great game to watch! It's gonna be just like the first 3! TCU came in here and beat us in a year just after we lost 11 players to the NFL draft, and few more to graduation....including our Heisman QB. If they want to brag about beating us during what was the worst season of the Stoops era, go ahead! Not much to brag about though if you ask me! This year is much different, and TCU is going to pay.
Patrick, Fayetteville - Sep 24, 2008 at 7:00 am
Texas Jack, maybe you need to read the article again, or at least comprehend what you read. Following is an excerpt: It was almost as if the Frogs knew what was coming. At least that's the way the story goes, tales at least, that OU coaches suspected TCU of spying on preseason scrimmages leading into that season opener. Bob Stoops shot those suggestions down as nonsense. "They kicked our butt in 2005,” Stoops said Monday. "That was plain and simple. They were more physical, more disciplined and executed better.”
Feeling around here is it will be a great game to watch.
Rusty, oklahoma city - Sep 24, 2008 at 5:52 am
Your idiot of a coach accused coach Patterson of spying on you guys in 2005..Ya right, like anyone needed to get an upper hand on that sorry team of yours.
I hope there will be no excuses when we beat your butts for the 3rd time in a row OU fans.
You cry baby Sooners crack me up.
You guys stomp a bunch of nobody's and you are all talking NC..LOL...Looks like a giant wake up call is coming your way this weekend...GO HORNFROGS!!!
james, Oklahoma City - Sep 24, 2008 at 5:21 am
Hmm, the lead in leaves you hangin' with "Sam Bradford: I knew he was special when ..."
Then the story leaves you hangin'. I thought there would be more to it, as well.
