Job fair for casino is planned
The Cherokee Nation's business arm is holding a two-day job fair to fill 500 openings for its newly expanded casino at West Siloam Springs.

The job fair will take place Oct. 3 and 4 in the administrative offices behind the casino at intersection of U.S. 412 and U.S. 59.

Applicants should bring two forms of identification and, if American Indian, a card showing tribal membership or degree of Indian blood.

Effective Friday, Cherokee Nation Enterprises' minimum wage will be $9 an hour, compared to the federal minimum wage of $6.55.

Maj. John Klatt, one of the United States' most noted aerobatic pilots, will perform with the Air National Guard's aerobatic team Saturday at the 2008 Vance Partners in the Sky Air Show at Vance Air Force Base.
