Vandermeer scored 27 seconds into the third period to give Oklahoma City a 3-2 Central Hockey League win over Amarillo before 5,357 fans on Thursday night at the Ford Center.

Vandermeer and Hinz were supposed to be the nucleus of a revamped Blazers club. When Hinz returned to Austria before the season began, the two never got to showcase their skills together.

But with Hinz returning to the Blazers last week and a second-period injury to D.J. Jelitto, Hinz and Vandermeer were on the ice together in the third period.
