Traffic death brings plea

An Oklahoma City teenager pleaded guilty Wednesday to negligent homicide in a November 2007 fatal crash. Caroline Marie Dike received a two-year deferred sentence in a plea deal with Oklahoma County prosecutors. The 17-year-old must write an essay about a Victim Impact Panel meeting, which includes talks by families of people who died in drunken driving crashes, and perform 40 hours of community service. Albert Morgan III, 34, died of injuries suffered in the crash, the court papers state.

Woman guilty in fatal crash

An Oklahoma City woman pleaded guilty Wednesday to causing a January 2007 crash that killed another driver.

Tianesha Renee Nolan will be sentenced Jan. 23 by an Oklahoma County judge. Nolan, 24, faces up to life in prison for first-degree manslaughter. Nolan was under the influence of PCP on Jan. 11, 2007, when she crashed her car into two other vehicles near Northwest Expressway and NW 63, according to court papers. Nina Cagle, 24, died nearly four months later of head injuries.

Restitution ordered

A former union employee was sentenced to one year of probation Wednesday for embezzling money from the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades. Lea Ann Newton must pay more than $3,300 in restitution to the union’s Oklahoma City chapter. Newton, a Midwest City resident, admitted in June to falsifying records to hide checks she had made out to herself during eight months of 2005 when she was the union’s office manager.
