GameDay visit seen as success
A huge crowd gathered on the lawn in front of the library at Oklahoma State for the first GameDay visit to Stillwater since 2004.
When the orange-clad fans, after nearly two hours of waiting in the cold, saw Lee Corso pull out an Oklahoma State flag, they went wild.
That is, until the ESPN personality discarded the orange, picked up an OU flag and put on the pony head.
But aside from the bulk of the crowd disliking the prognosticator’s pick and booing when host Chris Fowler accidentally said the crew was in Norman, the visit seemed to be a success for everyone present. The fans’ signs were particularly entertaining, and both sides of the rivalry were represented.
A few highlights included Boone Pickens-themed posters ("Boone Pickens is my homeboy” for the OSU side and "Three things Boone can’t buy: tradition, championships, a sellout” for the Sooners) and a 5-foot tall cutout of Pistol Pete with Corso’s head superimposed over Pete’s face.
