OU’s Quinton Carter. The sophomore safety started in place of Nic Harris, who moved to linebacker, and Carter delivered the game’s two biggest hits. Carter nailed scrambling Missouri quarterback Chase Daniel in the first quarter, then blew up Mizzou speedster Jeremy Maclin on an incompletion in the third quarter.

HORSE COLLAR’D
Brian Jackson, OU’s defensive hero with a fumble recovery and an interception, got into a jawing match with coach Bob Stoops after allowing a fourth-quarter touchdown. But all seemed fine after the game; Jackson and Stoops sat next to each other in the postgame press conference, and Stoops said he was just trying to let his defense know it should play out the game.

AUDIBLE
"The offense was spectacular. Sam Bradford, no one throws it better than him. Our running game was great. Offensive line was spectacular. Defense was outstanding in the first half.” — OU coach Bob Stoops
