Bradford now sporting crimson-colored cast
NORMAN — Sam Bradford is sporting a little more crimson these days.

The Oklahoma quarterback had his injured thumb casted Tuesday. He had been wearing a sling since surgery on Sunday to repair torn ligaments in his left thumb, but now he’s sporting a crimson-colored cast.
"It’s a little bigger than I thought it was going to have to be,” Bradford said of the hard cast that extends to his elbow.
He’ll wear the cast for 10 days, then have it replaced by a smaller hand cast. He expects to be ready when the Sooners resume practice after finals.
OU will play Florida in the BCS national championship game on Jan. 8.
Bradford, who injured his thumb in the Bedlam game, experienced some minor pain for a day or so after the surgery, but everything went as planned.
"I got done with surgery and went home and took about a two-hour nap,” Bradford said of Sunday’s out-patient procedure. "I was up and going the rest of the day.”
Bradford will be in Orlando for ESPN’s college football awards show Thursday, then fly to New York City for Saturday’s presentation of the Heisman Trophy.
After that, he’ll return to Norman and practice for the BCS national championship game.
