Thunder rookie Russell Westbrook ranks first among guards in offensive rebounding and was tied for 33rd in the league with 59 total offensive rebounds entering Sunday’s game against Cleveland.
Westbrook’s 2.2 offensive boards per game ranks 44th. "He has the ability to jump over a lot of guards his size,” said Thunder coach Scott Brooks. "He’s a long-armed, athletic point guard. But he has a knack for searching the ball out. And quite frankly he’s doing it because he jumps over his defender.” Said Westbrook: "I didn’t do it as much in college because I didn’t really get a chance to. We had to get back on defense a lot. But here I can do it and still get back at the same time.”
