Joshua Durcho, 25, sent a text message to his mother about 2:30 a.m. and called a few hours later, saying he was OK and that he loved her, said Shelton Bryan, who said he is Durcho's stepfather and has raised him since he was 3. Bryan said the conversation was short, and Durcho's mother told him to turn himself in just before he hung up the phone. "I don't see a good ending to this unless he turns himself in," Bryan said. "We don't want this to turn into something worse than it already is." Bryan said the family immediately contacted El Reno police, with whom he said they've been cooperating as much as they can.
