Q: What kind of reaction have you received?
Bennett: I’m hearing a lot of good things about how people feel about the experience. We’re getting better as a team. We’re getting better in the arena. It’s a lot of fun. We’ve gone from early on, some not-so-good comments, to no comments, to hearing a lot of nice comments. But we’ve still got a long way to go.
Have tough economic times affected the Thunder?
We’re insulated to some degree in that Oklahoma City is somewhat recession proof. We will feel it, of course. We’re feeling it now.
Could the economic situation trickle into next season?
It could. We’re sympathetic to that. We want to be sympathetic to our customers and their needs and where they are.
Could it affect season-ticket prices next season?
We’re looking at that right now. The key for us is we’re going to be very focused reaching out to our accounts, talking to them, maintaining relationships, making sure we’re doing all we can as an organization to keep them active as a season-ticket holder. Will there be a consolidation of accounts? Certainly. Will there be people that don’t renew full-season tickets and maybe go to packages? Certainly. The key is we want to provide all the service we can to our season-ticket holders.
With a waiting list, are you confident the team will continue to sell a substantial amount of season tickets?
I feel very good about where we are.
