Lynn finds a good fit
JENKS — Minutes after officially becoming an Oklahoma Sooner, Gabe Lynn was chomping on a piece of Kansas State cake.

The purple-and-white frosted dessert was on a KSU decorated table in the lobby of the Frank Herald Gym for those celebrating the Wildcats’ signing of Lynn’s Jenks teammate, Tramaine Thompson.

"I thought you were devoted to OU,” joked a purple-clad member of Thompson’s crew.

Lynn is now. But despite growing up in Oklahoma, he wasn’t always.

"OU is a good fit for me now at this stage of my football career,” said the 6-foot, 185-pound Lynn. "But I didn’t grow up wanting to be a Sooner. Before now, I have never been a big OU fan. I liked Texas and Miami.”

Ikard was set on OU
Bishop McGuinness senior tight end Gabe Ikard received numerous offers. But there was really only one place he wanted to go: Oklahoma.

Ikard made it official, signing with the Sooners on Wednesday morning.

"I grew up an OU fan, and I felt it was the best football fit for me,” he said.
