Kevin Durant picked for NBA All-Star H-O-R-S-E competition

Oklahoma City Thunder star forward Kevin Durant will be among three competitors in the inaugural NBA All-Star H-O-R-S-E competition on Saturday in Phoenix, TNT announced today. Durant, last season’s Rookie of the Year, will compete against NBA All-Star Joe Johnson of the Atlanta Hawks and Rookie of the Year candidate OJ Mayo of the Memphis Grizzlies.

The event will air live as part of a special two-hour edition of “Inside the NBA,” 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday. The show will be hosted by Ernie Johnson with analysts Kenny Smith and Chris Webber.

Durant and Thunder teammates Jeff Green and Russell Westbrook also will be playing in the Rookie Challenge game at 8 p.m. Friday as a team of rookies face off against second-year players. Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James will serve as a TNT analyst for the game, working with Kevin Harlan, Craig Sager and Smith.
