Lone Grove post office damaged, mail service routed through Ardmore

LONE GROVE -- The tornado that ravaged Carter County on Tuesday damaged Lone Grove's post office, forcing the post office in Ardmore to handle Lone Grove mail , according to a U.S. Postal Service news release.

The Lone Grove office sustained "heavy damage" in the storms, according to the news release. People with post office boxes in Lone Grove can retrieve their mail at the Ardmore facility.

Postal officials have visited the Lone Grove office and tried to recover all the mail that was there when the tornado hit. Mail deliveries in the Lone Grove area will not be interrupted except in areas where it is not safe for mail carriers to go or in areas where officials have closed access.
