The bison mascot won’t be the only new Thunder item at Tuesday’s home game against New Orleans. A new court has arrived and will make its debut Tuesday night.

The only difference noticeable to fans is the word "Thunder” has been added to "Oklahoma City” on both ends of the court. The new court will be approximately 3 feet longer on both ends to better fit the Ford Center.

Connor Sport Court International built both courts. The original court had a defect — the 3-point line was 1 foot short of the NBA’s 23-feet, 9-inch standards. The error was corrected in time for the Oct. 29 season opener, but Connor officials promised a new court at no additional charge.

Jon Isaacs, a vice president for Connor, said the old court would be donated to a needy school.

Tracking Thunder turnovers
One area of the Thunder’s performance that coach Scott Brooks has been pleased with is turnovers. Oklahoma City turned the ball over 14 times against the L.A. Lakers on Tuesday and just 12 times a night later against Portland.

"When we make the simple play it makes the game so much easier on all of our guys,” Brooks said. "When you have a crowd around you, you just make the simple pass and trust that he’s going to make the next good play.”

Brooks on Durant
Kevin Durant entered the All-Star break by scoring at least 30 points in five of the Thunder’s last six games and six of the last 10.
