County says damage to cost $10M

There is no damage estimate on the Carter County tornado that ripped through Lone Grove and the Majestic Hills subdivision north of Ardmore, but Oklahoma County officials estimate that two tornadoes in the metro caused more than $10 million in damage to commercial and residential properties in Oklahoma City and Edmond.

The Oklahoma County Assessor’s Office has estimated the damage as follows:

• Residential property damage — $5.7 million

• Commercial property damage — $4.5 million

Minor debris pick up

City officials are asking residents with minor storm debris to set items like brush, fencing and shingles at the curb, where they will be picked up by city crews. Those with larger debris that needs to be picked up can call the Utility Customer Service line at 297-2833.
